The Jockey Club
The Jockey Club is the breed registry for Thoroughbred horses in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, and it is dedicated to the improvement of Thoroughbred breeding and racing. The Jockey Club and its affiliated companies provide the industry with a wide range of products and services. Profits from the commercial entities enable The Jockey Club to support a wide range of important industry initiatives. The Jockey Club also provides administrative services to its two charities, Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation and The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation.
The Jockey Club Information Systems
The Jockey Club Information Systems Inc. (TJCIS) is the leading research and production source of North American Thoroughbred sales catalog pedigrees and it produces catalog pages for a host of sales companies. Its online information service, equineline.com, is the international source for Thoroughbred and American Quarter Horse pedigrees, race records, mare produce records, and sire reports as well as an innovative portfolio service and programs for farms, trainers, and owners. Equineline also created the Sales Catalog and Mare Produce Records apps, which are widely used domestically and internationally. In early 2015, TJCIS purchased a majority ownership interest in BloodHorse magazine.
Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Associations Inc
In 1990 a number of state horsemens organizations, unaffiliated with a national organization, began informal meetings to discuss issues of mutual concern and to explore strategies to have their voices heard on a national level. The discussions, facilitated by well-known industry lawyer and Maryland racing leader Alan Foreman, led to the formal creation of Thoroughbred Horsemens Associations Inc. in 1994.
Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association
To improve the economics, integrity and pleasure of the sport on behalf of Thoroughbred owners and breeders. TOBA manages American Graded Stakes Committee, which it founded in 1974. The AGSC assigns all graded and listed status for all stakes races run in the U.S.
Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America
TRA represents its members collective positions as a trade association in the area of federal legislation by sponsoring and performing related activities and maintaining liaison with other organizations and associations.
United States Trotting Association
The United States Trotting Association, located in Columbus, OH, is a not-for-profit association of Standardbred owners, breeders, drivers, trainers, and officials to organized to provide administrative, rulemaking, licensing and breed registry services to its members.
