American Horse Council and American Youth Horse Council Partner with National Home School Association to Expand Equine Education Access

Washington, D.C. 01.07.2025 –  The American Horse Council (AHC), in partnership with the American Youth Horse Council (AYHC), is proud to announce their collaboration with the National Home School Association (NHSA) to showcase equine-related educational content and curriculum to homeschool families nationwide.

Through this partnership, equine-focused educational resources developed by breed and discipline associations, industry organizations, and subject-matter experts will be made more accessible to students and educators seeking high-quality, horse-related learning opportunities. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to youth education, responsible horse ownership, and expanding awareness of the diverse career pathways within the equine industry.

“This partnership will be a great asset to the American Horse Council,” said Julie Broadway, President of the American Horse Council. “The AHC Youth Engagement Task Force has been working for the past year to identify and connect with breed and discipline associations and other industry stakeholders that have valuable youth resources and educational content. This collaboration supports the inclusion of those materials in the AHC/AYHC Youth Resource Handbook and helps ensure they reach a broader audience.”

The AHC/AYHC Youth Resource Handbook is designed to serve as a centralized educational tool, highlighting curriculum, programs, and opportunities that engage young people in the horse industry while supporting educators and families with trusted, industry-backed resources.

AHC also extends a special thank-you to Abby Eddy, a Fall 2025 AHC intern from Auburn University, whose dedication and research efforts helped advance this project and strengthen the foundation for this new partnership.

“This collaboration underscores the importance of investing in youth education and creating pathways for the next generation of equine professionals and advocates,” Broadway added.
