Julie M. Broadway Renews Certified Association Executive Credential

RENEWS CERTIFIED ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE CREDENTIAL

 

Washington, DC, [August 13, 2024] — ASAE has announced that Julie M. Broadway, President of the American Horse Council Inc. (AHC) and AHC Foundation, has earned/renewed the Certified Association Executive (CAE®) designation. The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry. 

To be designated as a Certified Association Executive, an applicant must have experience with nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 100 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management, and pledge to uphold a code of ethics. To maintain the certification, individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management. More than 4,600 association professionals currently hold the CAE credential. The CAE Program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Broadway earned her CAE credential in January 2013 and has maintained her certification for the past 12 years. Her most recent commission is valid through 2027.

Broadway earned her BS degrees from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and her MBA from the Weems Graduate School at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina.  She is also a graduate of the Duke University Advanced Nonprofit Leadership Program.

Prior to becoming President of AHC in 2016, Broadway was Executive Director of the American Morgan Horse Association and Educational Charitable Trust from 2006 – 2016. She also served on the board of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship from 2011 – 2018 and was board chair 2016-2017. She presently is Vice Chair of the PATH Intl. Credential Council and chairs the PATH Intl. Visionaries Society. In addition, she is a member of the ASAE National Capitol Advisory Council, the EUnetHorse, a European Advisory board for the equine industry, and co-chairs the US Equine Industry Executive Forum. Over the years, Broadway has volunteered on numerous boards, offered consulting expertise to a wide variety of organizations.
