The AAEP's mission is to improve the health and welfare of the horse, to further the professional development of its members, and to provide resources and leadership for the benefit of the equine industry. These principles have guided the AAEP for more than six decades in the activities and services it provides.

To promote the sport of endurance and encourage and enforce the safe use of horses in demonstrating their endurance abilities in a natural setting through the development, use and preservation of trails.

The mission of the AFA is to provide professional development, leadership, and resources for the benefit of the farrier industry and to promote the wellbeing of the horse through education of the horse owner, veterinarian, and farrier.
